Sophie Barnes is a writer/director and art director from Little Rock, Arkansas. 
Sophie’s films have been exhibited in film festivals across her home state of Arkansas and the South. Her short film MOONSPEAK premiered at Arkansas Cinema Society’s Filmland (2024), and screened at Persistence of Vision Film Festival in Hot Springs, Arkansas (2025). Her short film LIMBO premiered at Arkansas Cinema Society’s Filmland Showcase (2025). Her short film MUSING A SISTERPLACE won Best Experimental at University of Central Arkansas Film Festival (2020). 
Sophie received her BFA in Film and is now an MFA thesis student and adjunct professor in the Department of Film, Theatre, and Creative Writing at the University of Central Arkansas. In addition to directing, Sophie has served as production designer or art director on numerous feature and short films since 2019. 
She is currently in post-production for her thesis film PARTNERS.
